Other Perspectives

Proctor was selected for ‘Other Perspectives’: An Open Submission Exhibition of New Work – Reflecting the notion of ‘Other Perspectives’, artists were asked to consider the meaning of the phrase as defined either by: ‘the appearance of things relative to one another as determined by their distance from the viewer’ or perspective – a position: a way of regarding situations or topics.
The exhibition was selected by a specially invited panel of artists and curators comprising of Peter Richards, artist and Director of Golden Thread Gallery; Jackie Barker, Arts Director of MCAC; Marietheres Damm, Exhibitions Officer MCAC; Emma Wilson, Craigavon Borough Council Arts Development Officer; and Deidre Robb, Visual Arts Officer at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
Priority was given to artists whose work was both challenging and innovative. The exhibition featured the work of emerging as well as established artist’s working in a range of fine art medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video, performance, contemporary craft, applied arts and web-based digital work.
